Meet the Team

At the core of our firm is a team of seasoned professionals with a proven track record of delivering results across a wide range of industries and transactions.

The principals bring a wide range of combined experience in corporate finance, investment banking, institutional asset management, and hedge funds, having advised on over $400 million in transactions throughout their careers.

They have partnered with business owners, board committees, and shareholders to navigate complex mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises - helping them unlock value and achieve their strategic goals with deep industry knowledge spanning construction, consumer goods and services, food and beverage, industrials, oil and gas, real estate, and technology.

  • Managing Partner

    Daniel Scaini is a Managing Partner at The Fairing Group, where he co-leads alongside Zach, advisory mandates for privately held companies across the middle market in North America. 

    Daniel brings a strong background in mergers, acquisitions, and institutional capital markets. As a former investment banker with Manulife’s Capital Markets Group, Daniel advised on and executed transactions involving M&A and institutional placements of debt and equity. These mandates spanned a broad range of industries, including construction and environmental services, consumer goods, industrials, manufacturing, media, oil and gas services, and technology. 

    Earlier in Daniel’s career, he held roles in institutional asset management at AGF Investments, wealth management at RBC Dominion Securities, and hedge fund investing at Barometer Capital Management.

    Daniel holds an HBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

    Outside of work, Daniel is passionate about golf, Formula 1, the Toronto Maple Leafs, winemaking, and tackling hands-on DIY projects.

    Zach Schenker is a Managing Partner at The Fairing Group, where he co-leads alongside Daniel, advising privately held companies across the middle market in North America.

    Zach brings a strong background in private equity and corporate development, shaped by his experience as a private equity investor at Pantone Investment Management. As Pantone’s first employee, he played a key role in scaling the firm, underwriting and executing investments across alternative asset classes including self-storage, industrial, and other real estate-adjacent sectors. His background in investment management informs a disciplined, investment-oriented approach to mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth.

    Earlier in his career, Zach was an investment advisory professional at Accretive Realty Partners, where he advised private and public institutions on real estate acquisitions and divestitures. He was also a member of the corporate development and M&A team at VitalHub, a software company serving health and human services organizations.

    Zach is a CFA Charterholder and holds a degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

    Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, traveling, exploring the outdoors through hiking, and fantasy football.
